Frequently asked questions
Is my donation secure?
Yes. Your security and privacy is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL technology to keep your information safe and secure.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information.
Do you sell or share my contact information?
No. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with anyone. We also do not send mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will only share personal information if you give us specific permission to do so.
How does the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) impact donations to Discovery Place?
If you take the standard deduction: As of 2026, you can deduct up to $1,000 in charitable gifts as an individual—or $2,000 as a household—even if you don’t itemize your taxes.
If you itemize your deductions, smaller gifts may not count toward a deduction until your annual giving clears 0.5% of Adjusted Gross Income. In practice, making fewer, more intentional gifts in a single year (“bunching” your giving) can be more advantageous than lots of smaller donations under the new rules.
What’s the easiest way to maximize my standard deduction?
By becoming a Monthly Sustainer! When you sign up for easy, automatic payments of $84/month ($1,000/year) if filing single or $167/month ($2,000/year) if filing jointly, you can maximize your standard deductible by breaking it up in more manageable amounts throughout the year.
